I found it interesting that the first paved roads Hilter actually started the autobahn system, this was before any major paved highways in the U.S. I'm curious what happened after WWII was over. Obviously the autobahn system was severely delayed due to war and recovery issues but what about the rest of Europe? Though ravaged as well but when were roads mostly paved? I think here in the states it was generally late 40s to 60s of major road building sounds like Europe was about the same, any incite is appreciated.
